ARISE is a consumer-controlled, non-profit Independent Living Center (ILC) that promotes the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the community.

We are dedicated to removing barriers, sustaining needs, strengthening skills, and enriching the lives of people with disabilities in Central New York.

Since 1979, we have provided opportunities so that people with disabilities can live freely and independently in the community. As a local ILC, not only are we run by and for people with disabilities, we also offer services to people of all ages who have all types of disabilities.

Everything we do is based on the independent living philosophy, the belief that people with disabilities have a right to self-determination – the freedom to make choices and work toward achieving personal goals and systems change.

Each year, ARISE serves more than 3,000 people from our offices located in three Central New York counties: Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego. All our programs are consumer directed, maximizing choice and opportunities for the people we serve.
